

6th - 8th Grade Spring Basketball opportunities with the AMS coaches are listed below.
These opportunities are for current 6th and 7th grade students at Ashworth Middle School and current 5th grade students from Gordon County feeder schools (Tolbert, Swain, Belwood, or Red Bud) who will be 6th graders during the 2026–2027 school year.
• Lady Warrior Basketball Spring Open Gym is May 4th, 5th, 6th after school until 5:30
• Summer Basketball (for dates, see the back of this paper)
• Team Try-Outs are in October. The Date is TBD
Information:
• Forms must be completed at www.rankone.com to be eligible for any of the activities listed above
• Bring a water bottle of any kind with a lid or cap. (It can be just a regular bottle of water)
• Wear athletic clothes and hair needs to be pulled back or put up
• During open gym the Coaches will be teaching fundamental basketball skills and knowledge of the game
• During all activities, parents, family, and friends are NOT allowed so the girls will feel comfortable and focused on what is being asked of them.

Basketball Summer opportunities with AMS Coaches are listed below:
These Summer Camp opportunities are for CURRENT 3rd grade and 4th grade students from Ashworth feeder schools (Tolbert, Swain, Belwood, and Red Bud) these students WILL BE 4th and 5th grade students during the 2026-2027 school year.
Summer basketball Camp:
• Ashworth Team sponsored camp for grades K-8th is June 10 &11. (See Camp flyer on AMS website and Facebook page.)
• Students will have opportunities to learn drills and skills from Ashworth Coaches.

Jonathan Miles won the Triple Jump with a new PR of 30' 5.5".
Grantland Klaas won the Long Jump with a new PR of 15'8".
Raylan Stuart won the High Jump.
Landon Lowrance won the Shot Put with a throw of 34'8".
Tyler Hernandez won the 400m Dash with a time of 1:02.
Junior Martinez and Landon Romero placed 1st and 2nd in the 1600m run and the 800m run.
Kasen Parker and Charlie Rodriguez placed 3rd and 4th in the 1600m run with new PRs of 6:27.
Aiyanna Dyer placed 2nd in the shot put with a new PR of 26'1".
Jazlyn Adams won the long jump with a jump of 11'1".
Aleah Mills placed 3rd overall in the discus with a throw of 48'8".
Da'Naziah Harrison won the High Jump.
Alysa Garland won the 100m dash and 200m dash with times of 14.50 and 30.89.
Lilly Thompson won the 400m dash with a time of 1:15.33.
Rihanna Aguilar won the 100m hurdles with a time of 19.61.
Our track warriors will have their last home meet on April 16 and area meet at Darlington on April 24. We would love to have you come out and support our track warriors!!!

The boys had a tough lost yesterday to Pepperell, losing a close one 2-3. We had Wins from Adrian Rubio 8-4 and Kiran Leslie 8-4.
The girls had a commanding win against Pepperell winning all lines yesterday. Please congratulate the girls team starting region play yesterday with a win. Emilyn Keeton and Avery Wiley both won 8-1 in their singles line. Kat Thomas won her singles match 8-4. Both doubles teams made up of Piper Watson and McKenzie Cascella (1st doubles) and Tessa Morgan and McKinely Peacock (2nd Double) both won 8-1 as well.

Free sports physicals will be April 17th. Pre-screening will be April 14th.
