Refer to the invitation letter your child received from their homeroom teacher for their appointment time. We look forward to seeing you then!

Attention 8th grade parents! Rising Freshman Open House will be Monday, February 9th at Gordon Central, 6:00-8:00 PM. Join us for an opportunity to explore the high school, meet teachers and staff, and learn about academic programs, extracurricular activities, and student expectations.

We hope that our students, staff, and families have remained safe during this recent period of severe weather. The safety and well-being of our school community remain our top priority, and we appreciate the patience and cooperation shown by our families and employees.

Due to the latest weather forecast from GEMA indicating the potential for severe weather in the northwest Georgia region, Gordon County Schools will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026.
This precautionary measure is being taken to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and families amid potentially hazardous and unpredictable winter weather conditions. Gordon County Schools will continue to assess conditions in coordination with local and state partners.
Updated information regarding Tuesday’s school day will be provided as weather conditions are monitored tomorrow. Families should be prepared for the possibility of additional school closure dates and are encouraged to remain informed by our official district communication channels, including phone calls, text messages, social media, and the Gordon County Schools website.
We appreciate your understanding and continued support as the safety of our school community remains our highest priority.

Weather conditions expected this weekend and early next week could impact school operations, and Gordon County Schools wants families and staff to be aware that there may be potential school closures and/or delays.
District leaders are working with local and state agencies to watch conditions closely and make decisions soon with the safety of students and employees as the top priority. Updates will be shared through phone calls, text messages, social media, and our school and district websites.
Thank you for your continued understanding and support as we prioritize safety for our school community.

Coach Blizzard also shared his belief that “we are all one program, from elementary through high school,” reinforcing the importance of a strong feeder pattern and shared expectations. He invited our players to visit him at the high school anytime and shared information about spring practice and an upcoming signing day for rising freshmen.
We were also excited to announce Coach Matthew Moses as our new AMS Head Football Coach. Coach Moses brings leadership, consistency, and a student-first mindset as he steps into this role, and we look forward to the positive impact he will have on our players and program.
Additionally, we want to recognize Coach Gazaway, who after 17 years as a head football coach will transition into a coordinator and mentor role. His experience, guidance, and commitment to mentoring young coaches and players will continue to strengthen our program. We are grateful for the leadership, collaboration, and shared vision demonstrated by all of these coaches as we continue to build a strong, unified football program focused on student growth on and off the field. GO WARRIORS!
