Mr. Terry Allee entertained Kindergarten-2nd Grade students with an interactive presentation of Barnum Brown. The archeologist who found the first bones of the Tyrannosaurus Rex 🦖. Students were engaged in the storytelling by Mr. Allee. Thank you for such an amazing experience!

Belwood Elementary kindergarten students had a special visit to Gordon Central High School today for a variety of fun, hands-on activities organized and led by Teaching as a Profession instructor Kodi Albright.
It was great to see our high school students interacting with the younger students, helping guide activities, and building connections across schools. Students also had the opportunity to paint in Ciera DeFrench’s class and had so much fun expressing their creativity.
Experiences like this give future educators valuable practice while giving our youngest learners a memorable day of learning and connection. We love seeing our students come together as one school community!

Christmas assistance program
Parents seeking assistance for their children for Christmas must complete a Financial Education Class at the Voluntary Action Center. These classes are offered in partnership with Truist. Applications for Christmas Assistance will only be distributed to class attendees.
To determine if you're eligible for Christmas Assistance, review the guidelines below:
You must provide a picture ID or birth certificate.
Proof you live in Gordon County, and your school-aged children attend a school located in Gordon County or are homeschooled.
You have not applied for any other Christmas assistance programs. If you apply for assistance with any other agency or program, your application with the Voluntary Action Center will be denied.
You must provide a birth certificate, shot record, driver's license, or passport for all children.
You must provide proof of income. Applications without acceptable proof of income will not be approved.
