Fairmount Elementary kindergarten students are learning how strong readers find meaning in a text! Mrs. White’s class used a creative anchor chart to explore how key details can “open doors” to understanding the central idea of what they read. #FairmountElementary #GrowConnectSucceed #GordonCountySchools

Our big fundraiser starts in a few days! Our goal is to raise $25,000.00 for important items and services that are not currently funded at this time.

We are asking ALL parents to pre-register their student(s) here:
https://www.shopfund.com/parentregister
Make sure you use Group Code: LDEHF

Please get at least one person to support our fundraiser before our official kick-off day. Any student that is registered and adds 10 contacts will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win over 1,000 prizes. How cool would it be if we took a chunk out of our goal BEFORE the fundraiser even starts?

Fairmount Elementary is grateful for the generosity shown today in support of its Helping Hands Ending Hunger program!

Donations were provided by Morning Star Lodge, Machine Craft, Pine Hall Brick, and Hometown Creations for a grand total of $2,500. These organizations came together to support FES and help make a meaningful difference for students and families in the Fairmount community, and they have pledged to continue helping raise even more.

Helping Hands Ending Hunger, also known as HHEH, is a program that helps fight childhood hunger by providing food support for students and families in need. Through this effort, schools and communities work together to show compassion, serve others, and help make sure students have the support they need beyond the school day.

Thank you to these community partners for supporting Fairmount Elementary and the important work of HHEH. Go Bulldogs!

We held our first LSGT meeting of the year, and we have lots of exciting things happening at Fairmount!
We reviewed the beginning of the year data in reading, math, and ELA. While our numbers are looking good, we’re always striving for better! Goals have been set, and our teachers are confident we’ll continue to see growth throughout the year.
At FES, our Helping Hands End Hunger program has partnered with Emory Research Center to explore ways to make our program even better, including more nutritious and kid-friendly food choices!
We also discussed upcoming PTO fundraisers (Fall Festival) and FES spirit wear (currently happening), which help fund incentives for our hardworking students and teachers.
Parents, teachers, and community members are welcome to join us at our next meeting, October 7th.

If you have not yet completed the 2027-2028 School Calendar Survey, please take a few moments to share your preference between Option 1 and Option 2. The primary difference between the two proposed calendars is the timing of Fall Break.

The survey also includes an optional section about school and district communications. These questions will help us better understand how you receive information, which communication tools you prefer, and whether there is interest in exploring a more centralized approach to communication.

The communications portion is completely optional and is not required in order to submit your calendar selection.

The survey closes September 1. Please submit your response using this link: https://forms.gle/wM3v9A7N4SfNDoRg6

Fairmount Elementary students in Mrs. Davis’ class practiced important reading skills as they read along with her and discussed the setting of a story. These conversations help build strong readers who can think deeply about what they read.

It was a great day of learning and literacy at FES!
