Red Ribbon Week is October 27-30.
Life is a Puzzle, Solve It Drug Free!
Fairmount Parents,
Students will be allowed to wear their costumes to school on Thursday, October 30th. Your child’s safety
is always our first concern here at Fairmount. We ask that you guide their selection of costumes to allow
them to comfortably work and learn throughout the day, as well as be able to independently use the
restroom. Any items that encourage violence or could be scary to other children are inappropriate for
children at school. All accessories to costumes should be left at home. We are not responsible for lost or
damaged items. Students are not allowed to wear full-faced masks. Classes will enjoy a snack and craft
during the school day. This is for the student only. Thank you for your cooperation in making this a fun
and safe day at school. We are looking forward to an enjoyable day!

Representatives from Helping Hands Ending Hunger visited Fairmount Elementary today to tour the school’s HHEH pantry and meet with student leaders who are making a difference in their community. They were welcomed by student ambassadors Lily Byars and Lily Waters, who both play an important role in the program.
Helping Hands Ending Hunger is a nonprofit organization that partners with schools to collect unused, unopened food from cafeterias and redistribute it directly to students and families in need. By reducing food waste and providing consistent access to nutritious meals, HHEH helps address food insecurity while also teaching students about leadership, service, and community responsibility. HHEH CEO Carla Harward joined the tour, along with Gordon County Schools Superintendent Mrs. Alice Mashburn, who shared how impactful this program has been for students and families across the district.
Fairmount Elementary principal Mrs. Rebecca Champion spoke about the importance of the program and how the community has come together to support it with parent volunteers, local donations, and the dedication of students. Counselor Judith Cunningham has also been instrumental in leading and organizing students as they help distribute food to families in need.
We are proud of our Fairmount Elementary students and staff for their commitment to serving others through Helping Hands Ending Hunger. Go Bulldogs!
