We would like to welcome Payton McReynolds to the Bulldog Family!
Ms. McReynolds is no stranger to FES. She has worked in our ASP program for several years. Ms. McReynolds will now be serving FES as a paraprofessional in Pre-k. She is attending Valdosta State University and majoring in Elementary Education. Ms. McReynolds enjoys spending time with her family, her pets, and being outside! Ms. McReynolds is happy to pour into her community in the same classroom where she attended Pre-k. She loves the Fairmount community, is excited to see what the year holds, and how her students will learn and grow.

Welcome Payton McReynolds to FES
Fairmount Elementary students had a great day enjoying time together in the cafeteria and eating delicious school nutrition meals at no cost.

Throughout the building, students and staff are also celebrating 250 years of the United States with special themes and activities that bring history, pride, and learning to life.

It has been a wonderful start to the school year at FES. Go Bulldogs!

Fairmount Elementary kicked off back to school with a great day of learning and exploration!

Ms. Tallant’s first grade class enjoyed reading a book together, while Mrs. Clark’s STEAM students jumped right into hands-on building activities. It was exciting to see students engaged, curious, and ready to start the year strong.

We are looking forward to a wonderful year of growing, connecting, and succeeding together.

FES staff
Good morning FES families…This is Mrs. Champion with a warm welcome back message. We are excited to welcome students back tomorrow, August 7. Please make sure you have completed your child’s paperwork from open house and that the return-to-school documents are sent back tomorrow. Parents are welcome to walk their children to their classrooms tomorrow and Monday. Beginning Tuesday, August 11th, all students will need to be dropped off in the car rider line unless they are arriving by bus.
We will need your help in the mornings to make our car rider line more efficient and keep the safety of our students as our number one priority. All students arriving to school as a car rider should be dropped off in the car rider line, not in the parking lot in front of the school or in the side or back parking lots near the office. These areas are reserved for students with special circumstances and parents have already met with me to make these arrangements. If you feel that your child needs a special arrangement, please call the school to set up a time to meet with me. Please have your students unbuckled and ready to exit the car before you pull up to the sidewalk where our teachers are stationed to assist students. Parents, please do not get out of your car in the line. If your child needs help, our staff will assist them. Many parents are pushed for time to make it to work without a late penalty. Please make sure the door your child will be using is free from objects that could fall out of the car. Also, for afternoon car rider line, please do not line up until 1:30pm or after to pick your child up.
Thank you all so much for your help with keeping our students safe and helping our car rider line run smoothly!
On behalf of the entire faculty/staff…Welcome Back! This is going to be the best year ever at FES!!

TRANSPORTATION CHANGE INFORMATION

NO NOTE-NO RIDE RULE

Students who do not ride the bus on a regular basis but may need to do so on
any given day or may need to ride another bus must have a note sent to school
on that day. Emails/Class Dojo are not considered written notification. If the
parent or legal guardian wants the child to have a change in car riders, stay in
after school care, or go home with a friend or relative, written permission must
be sent to the school on that day. This note should include the child’s name,
address of where the student is to go, a parent/guardian’s signature, date, and
contact information for the parent. When the note is presented to the school
official, a Change of Transportation form will be provided to the driver. In order
to ride a bus, they do not normally ride or to be let off at a different stop, drivers
must receive this form upon the student loading the bus. Phone calls will not be
accepted to make any transportation changes. Any exception to the rule will
require the principal’s signature. Repeated requests will not be honored. No
changes will be made after 1:00 PM.

Gordon County families, we have bus registration survey forms to fill out for the following students:

* New students enrolling to the school district for the first time
* Families who have recently moved residences within our school district
* 2026-2027 Pre-K student

If your child needs transportation this fall and is new, recently moved, or enrolling into Pre-K, please take a moment to fill out our survey to help the Transportation Department prepare for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year.
