Our freshmen attended the "Commitment to Graduate" meeting, where Jostens representative, Matt Hughes, shares how much of an impact the high-school years have on the rest of their lives.

Mr. Skiffen's American Government class participated in a Supreme Court case Galley Walk. The students analyzed different Supreme Court cases in American History. Students then had to use their prior knowledge of constitutional amendments to determine which amendments were being argued in each case.

We would like to wish Tammy Fuller, our lunchroom manager, and the amazing lunchroom staff a huge congratulations on their score of 100 on their recent health safety inspection. They do a wonderful job and always have smiles to share with students and staff! #TOGETHERGCHS

Last week, Sonoraville High School teacher Katie Farley and district Educational Diagnostician Natasha Hall took students from both high schools on a tour of the GNTC Floyd campus through the High School High Tech program.
They were able to explore these program areas: healthcare, welding, cosmetology, auto collision repair, instrumentation and controls, and auto fundamentals. This looked like an extremely informative and interactive tour, and we appreciate these educators giving students opportunities to explore future potential careers.

The HOSA club is hosting a donation site for hurricane assistance for non-perishable items. See the suggested list of non-perishable items that are needed on this post. The drop off station will be near the front office of Gordon Central High School until Thursday at noon. These items will then be loaded onto a trailer that someone in the community has offered to let us use and they will be taking the items to areas that were hit hard by Hurricane Helene. We appreciate any and all donations. #TOGETHERGCHS
