
Fall sports tryouts and practices are starting soon for next year. Please check out the dates for tryouts and practices for each sport. Every student athlete must have a physical on file with the school before being allowed to participate.

The 8th Annual Mud at the Bud will be held Thursday, April 28, from 4:00 to 6:30 at Red Bud Middle School. All participants must complete a registration form and waiver. The event costs $10.00 per person and includes unlimited runs, one slice of pizza, and a water. T-shirts will be sold for $15.00 on a first come, first serve basis and will be sold during lunch hours on the day of the event as well as during the event. All proceeds will go to support the RBMS Athletic Booster Club.

Parents:
Spring Standardized Testing is May 2 - 18.  See the included testing calendar for your child's specific testing days. Let’s work together and make your child’s experience positive and successful! 
Here are some suggestions you can do to help every day: 
✔ Ensure your child arrives to school on time each day.
✔ Have your child eat a healthy breakfast at home or at school. Remember: School breakfast is currently free for all students. 
✔ Ensure your child gets a good night’s sleep. 
✔ Encourage them to do their best. 
Please note: All electronic devices—smart phones, smart watches, wireless earbuds, etc.—should be left at home. Any item brought to school must be powered off and turned into the homeroom teacher.


Sonoraville High School cheer tryouts will be April 18-22.  There will be an informational meeting Tuesday, April 12, at 6:30 in the SHS gym.  All teams will be chosen during this time which means varsity football, varsity basketball, varsity competition, game day, and possibly JV. You must have an updated physical on file. Attention sixth grade students:
Both field trip forms for your upcoming Junior Achievement Field Trip are due tomorrow, Friday, April 1, 2022.  Because of Spring Break, late forms will not be accepted.  Please turn in all forms to your homeroom teacher Friday morning,


Gordon County Schools will be on Spring Break, April 4-8. We'll see everyone back on April 11! Have a safe and happy Spring Break!

Activities at The Bud March 28-April 1  


On Thursday, March 24, Red Bud Middle School inducted seventy 7th graders into the Jr. Beta Club. The Jr. Beta Club promotes the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among students. Students must be in academic good-standing to be eligible for this honor. Congrats to these students!


RBMS Weekly Events


The RBMS Jr. Tome Society recently competed and won the state Jr. Tome Reading Bowl Competition.  Forty-seven middle school teams competed by reading ten books throughout the season.  Students took three tests via computer throughout the competition in order to determine who would compete in the final competition at TomeCon.  RBMS entered the competition  in 4th place due to the valiant efforts of our TOME members. Total points were calculated to determine RBMS won 1st place after 4 rounds against other schools from around our state. In addition to the reading bowl, students also participated by creating projects in both the fall and spring.  The following students won TOME awards for their projects:

Red Bud Middle School is proud to announce that Mrs. Brooke Roberts has been selected as our 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year.
 
Mrs. Roberts teaches Connections Reading classes at RBMS.  She reaches beyond daily and is a very kind person. In the classroom, she has found numerous ways to motivate her students to improve their reading skills.  Her students make tremendous achievement gains on an annual basis.  Mrs. Roberts has 23 years of teaching experience and was the 2009 Teacher of the Year at Red Bud Elementary.
 
Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Brooke Roberts for being recognized for this prestigious honor.

Spring Picture Day is this Wednesday, March 16. The following clubs & sports will take group pictures that day as well: Wrestling & Managers, Baseball, Tennis, Track, Band, Sources of Strength, 4H, Jr. Beta Club, Jr. Tome Society and Yearbook Staff. Please make sure your child brings  their uniform or shirt for group pictures.
