In honor of National School Breakfast Week, our SES cafeteria transformed into a royal castle for a medieval-themed Celebrity Servers Breakfast! Princes and princesses filled the kingdom as we welcomed brave knights from the Gordon County Sheriff's Office and our honored guest, Superintendent Alice Mashburn.

Our special visitors traded badges and briefcases for serving trays as they helped serve breakfast to our royal court. It was a morning full of smiles, castle décor, and reminders that a healthy breakfast helps our students start the day strong and ready to learn! 🥞🍎

We are so grateful for community leaders who support our school and celebrate the importance of school breakfast with us. Long live Phoenix Pride! ❤️🖤

Important Notice
Sonoraville Elementary 2nd grade teacher Alli Smith had her students working in stations today as they practiced reading and phonics skills. One station had personalized instruction based on their areas of need, and another focused on identifying words with silent letters to help students understand letter patterns such as kn, gn, and wr.

The station rotations allowed students to strengthen their reading skills in an engaging and supportive way.

District leaders presented schools today with banners celebrating outstanding performance ratings on the Georgia 2025 College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI). Congratulations to Sonoraville Elementary for their district-level achievements in Content Mastery: ELA and Math, ELL Proficiency, Literacy, Progress Math, and Readiness!
#ExtraordinaryGCS #ExtraordinarySES

CCRPI scores are calculated using multiple indicators that measure student achievement, progress, readiness, and closing gaps. A key component of the CCRPI is student performance and growth on state assessments, including the Georgia Milestones End-of-Grade (EOG) and End-of-Course (EOC) tests. Additional factors include graduation rates, progress of English Learners, and indicators of college and career readiness.

Content Mastery: Looks at how well students are performing on Georgia Milestones tests in core subject areas, representing their level of academic proficiency.

English Learner (ELL) Proficiency: Evaluates the progress of English learners in developing English language skills, using the ACCESS for ELLs assessment.

Literacy: Highlights student performance specifically in reading and writing. Literacy is a critical indicator of long-term academic success and is closely monitored as part of both readiness and content mastery.

Progress – Math: Tracks student growth over time on the Georgia Milestones in Mathematics, regardless of their starting point. It shows how much academic progress students are making year to year.

Readiness: Assesses whether students are prepared for the next grade level, college, or careers. It includes factors like attendance, literacy readiness, and participation in advanced coursework or career pathways.
