Several students represented SHS at the 98th annual FFA National Convention in Indianapolis. Congratulations to Sonoraville High FFA members Emma Bennett and Abby Ryle for placing 7th in the nation with their Agriscience Project in the Food Products and Processing Systems category.
Congratulations to SHS 2025 graduate Makena Blalock for earning a National win in the Employment Skills Contest. For the contest Makena submitted a cover letter, resume, and job application. Then, she did an online interview and follow up email. At convention, she completed an in-person interview and handwritten follow up. After advancing to Top 12 she completed a final interview. The top 8 finished with a networking luncheon and telephone job offer where she had to utilize negotiation skills is some aspect of the job like hours or salary.

This Veterans Day, Sonoraville High School students will set up a field of American flags in partnership with Disabled American Veterans (DAV) to honor local veterans and raise critical funds to support our nation’s ill and injured heroes.
Each donated flag represents a special veteran in someone’s life, with proceeds benefiting DAV and the charity’s free, professional services for veterans, their families, caregivers and survivors. The flags will be displayed at Sonoraville High School on Nov. 11.

We understand that times can be hard, and groceries are expensive.
