W.L. Swain Elementary 5th grade students in Mrs. Bennett’s class were using visualization to support vocabulary growth and reading comprehension.

Mrs. Bennett reinforced the anchor skill of visualization to help students better understand and remember new words from their story. Students created fun motions and actions to connect each word with its meaning, making vocabulary practice engaging and memorable!

🤠SADDLE UP for Math & Literacy Night! 🤠

We are looking forward to welcoming our WLS families to Math & Literacy Night on September 24th from 5:30–7:30 PM!

We’ll have hands-on learning, family fun, and PIZZA! To help us plan for enough food for everyone, we need to know how many cowboys and cowgirls will be joining us!

We can’t wait to see everyone SADDLE UP and show their school spirit all week long! 🤠

Students are learning that creativity means using their imagination, thinking in new ways, and finding unique solutions to problems. Preregistering gives you: 📷 Up to 10% off 📷 Early access to view and purchase portraits online 📷 If you miss preregistration, you will still receive proofs with a new QR code Please note: Preregistration is completely optional and does NOT affect whether your child will have their picture taken. All students will be photographed. The preregistration QR code expires 2 days before Picture Day, so be sure to scan the code on the flyer if you would like to register.
