CALHOUN, GEORGIA – Gordon County Schools (GCS) was recognized recently by the Georgia School Public Relations Association (GSPRA). The awards were announced during GSPRA's annual conference, where GCS proudly took home four prestigious honors.

The GSPRA Awards program celebrates exemplary work by public schools, school systems, post-secondary institutions, and educational agencies and associations. The awards highlight the dedication and innovation exhibited by educational institutions across the state in communication and public relations.

Gordon County Schools, under the guidance of Communications Coordinator Kendra Pannell, received the following awards:

Best in Category: Special Purpose Publication

GCS received the "Best in Category" award for the first edition of "At A Glance: The Gordon County Schools Community Magazine.”

"At A Glance, the Gordon County Schools Community Magazine,” publication offered a captivating window into the district's dynamic educational ecosystem. The first edition showcased student achievements and outstanding programs, while also providing essential back-to-school information.

2 Gold Awards for Special Purpose Publication and Photography

In addition to the "Best in Category" award, Gordon County Schools earned Gold Awards in two categories – "Special Purpose Publication" and "Photography."

Peach Award: Marketing Communication Campaign

GCS also received the brand new "Peach Award" in recognition of a recently completed marketing and communication campaign. The award specifically acknowledges the initiative, "Re-Branding GCS - Enhancing System Identity, Perception, and Engagement," which demonstrated the system's dedication to fostering positive change and growth while connecting with our community. Gordon County Schools was honored to be one of only three school districts in Georgia to be honored with the inaugural Peach Award.
