Mrs. Beth Herod being awarded the Jimmy Stokes Distinguished Service Award

Gordon County Schools is happy to announce that Mrs. Beth Herod, Director of Early Learning and Elementary Education, was awarded the Jimmy Stokes Distinguished Service Award at the 2024 Winter GAEL Conference. 

Since 2007, the GAEL Exemplary Awards have been presented annually to select difference-makers in education. This award honors long-time outstanding service by GAEL members and their dedicated service to education.

Mrs. Herod has been a key leader in education for Gordon County Schools in literacy and developing instructional leaders in our schools. We appreciate her service toward others and her professional collaboration both within our school system and across the state of Georgia. Congratulations on this fantastic honor!
