Little Free Library

Gordon Central High School Media Specialist and Library Advisor Sheri Pruitt teamed up with GC Construction teacher Bo Dooley and his class to build and install their second Little Free Library in the Gordon County Parks and Recreation system.

Gordon County Parks and Recreation Director Craig Sparks joined these two educators in unveiling the new mobile library as a means of community members to take a book and share a book with one another. The Little Free Library organization seeks to help find people gain easy access to books for readers of all ages, making new discoveries finding personally relevant books to read that's not limited by time, space, or privilege.

This is the second Little Free Library created by Mrs. Pruitt and Mr. Dooley; the first was installed in 2022 in Harold "Ooky" Faith Memorial Park.

We are so proud of this work by our teachers and partnership with Mr. Sparks and the County Rec to bring new avenues toward promoting literacy and reading in our community.
