Families, take a few minutes to talk with your child and ask: “What is something you want to learn, improve, or accomplish this school year?”
Their goal may be academic, personal, creative, or something completely new. Whether they want to become a stronger reader, make new friends, try an activity, build confidence, improve a skill, or reach another meaningful milestone, every goal is worth celebrating.

This year’s essay theme, “Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday and the Veterans Who Fought for Our Freedom,” encouraged students to reflect on patriotism, the freedoms Americans enjoy, and the sacrifices made by our nation’s veterans. We are proud of Lydia and Bella for representing Gordon County Schools through their thoughtful writing and respect for our country.
