AMS Weekly Events: 9/21-9/27
Ashworth Middle School 8th grade students in Coach Ashley’s science class worked on identifying balanced and unbalanced equations. By comparing atoms on both sides of an equation, students practiced identifying what makes an equation balanced.
They did a great job working through these formulas!

Gordon Central High School Teaching as a Profession students in Mrs. Albright’s class had the opportunity to visit Ashworth Middle School and work alongside teachers and students in the classroom.
These future educators gained valuable hands-on experience in a real school setting. Experiences like this help students better understand this future career path.
The group was even willing to pose for a picture, and AMS PE teacher Coach Moore joined in on the fun for one of them!

Today, Ashworth Middle School joins communities across our nation in observing Patriot Day.
We remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, honor the courage of the first responders and everyday heroes who answered the call, and reflect on the strength and unity shown in the days that followed.

Our golfers had several personal bests across the board at Spring Lakes Golf Course yesterday.
In a 5 way match our Lady Warrior Golfers finished 2nd by 1 stroke behind Dalton.
Leading the team was Makayla Hallman with a 48 and Tessa Morgan with a 50. Avery Wiley carded a great score of 52. this led the team to 2nd place over Calhoun, Cartersville, Christian Heritage. Way to go girls.
The boys had some great scores.
Leading the team was Brantley Baker with a 40 and Caleb Silvers with a 41. Also, personal bests and scoring for the team were Silas Watson 55 and Julius King 56.

Students in Ms. Massengale’s and Mr. Peacock’s eighth-grade social studies classes worked in stations last week to learn more about the reasons that the Georgia colony was created. They also used excerpts from the Charter of 1732 to confirm the presence of those reasons in the language of the original document. Students were able to learn the importance of studying primary as well as secondary sources when studying events of the past.

Students selected from a range of questions, including how many pets they have and how many hours of sleep they get each night, then collaborated in groups to organize their responses into multiple data charts. This activity helped students practice charting information, analyzing data, and learning more about their classmates.
It was a great example of teamwork, math in action, and meaningful classroom connections.
