
The Ashworth Track and Field team competed at the Ashworth-Warrior Invitational on Saturday against Red Bud, Valley Point, and Eastbrook. The Girls' team placed 2nd overall while the Boys' team placed 3rd overall. Here are the highlights of the meet:
In the 3200m Run, our girls (Maylynn Ramirez, Piper Watson, and Chelsea Santizo) and boys (Zach Kirby, Junior Martinez, and Grantland Klaas) placed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall.
Our Girl's 4x100m team (Railyn Simpson, Blakley White, Allison Zapien, and Savannah Dyer) placed 3rd overall.
Our Girl's 4x100m team (Railyn Simpson, Blakley White, Sheyla Ramirez, and Savannah Dyer) placed 3rd overall.
Railyn Simpson placed 1st overall in the 200m Dash.
Delilah Watson placed 2nd overall in the 100m Dash.
Sheyla Ramirez placed 3rd overall in the 800m Run.
Zayla Bogue placed 3rd overall in the 1600m Run.
Allison Zapien placed 2nd overall in the 100m Hurdles.
Blakely White placed 3rd overall in the High Jump.
Ayanna Thomas placed 2nd overall in the Shot Put and Discus.
Savannah Dyer placed 3rd overall in the Shot Put.
Alayna Jackson placed 4th overall in the Shot Put.
Landry Rainwater placed 3rd overall in the Discus
Bella Hardin placed 4th overall in the Discus.
Baylin Roberts placed 3rd overall in the 100m Dash and 200m Dash
Our Boy's 4x100m team (Jaxson Petty, Joey Gravitte, Baylin Roberts, and Jeremy Gregory) placed 3rd overall.
Our Boy's 4x400m team (Jaxson Petty, Joey Gravitte, Baylin Roberts, and Zach Kirby) placed 3rd overall.
We also had a number of our athletes set new personal records in their event areas. We are very proud of their hard work, and excited for the rest of the season. Our next meet will be at Darlington on 4/2. Congratulate these Warriors when you see them in the hallway!

On Monday, Coach Jeff Gazaway had an opportunity to meet our upcoming 6th and 7th-grade football players during their connections class. Coach Gazaway is a seasoned football coach with extensive experience, and we are pleased to have him on board with the Warrior program. Please extend a warm welcome to Coach Gazaway.

Gordon County Schools will have a Digital At-Home Learning Day TODAY, Friday, March 15. Students will not attend school in-person today. Students can use this time to complete make-up work or missing assignments. If they have any assignments to complete, teachers will send these assignments home with the students.


Gordon County Schools is on an early release schedule Wednesday, March 13th and Thursday, March 14th for Parent Conferences. We hope families were able to schedule time to meet with teachers to discuss your child's progress this year. If not, you are encouraged to stay in contact with your school and connect with teachers to find time to discuss academic achievement and future goals.
Friday, March 15th is an At-Home Learning Day. We hope that your child or children are able to explore learning opportunities that day and catch up on assignments, projects, and materials as we approach End-of-Course and End-of-Grade Milestones testing.
