Gordon County Schools recognize Red Ribbon Week every October.
The mission of Red Ribbon Week is to present a unified and visible commitment toward the prevention of alcohol and drug abuse.

The annual Art Poster contest includes the winning art being on display at the Harris Art Center. The winning recipients and their families will be honored at an Art Reception held at the Harris Art Center on Monday, October 20 at 4:30 p.m.

The sponsors of this event are The Gordon County Chamber of Commerce and Mannington Mills.

Tuesday – Team Up Against Drugs. Wear your favorite team gear. 
Wednesday – Crazy Red Day! Wear red with your crazy socks and crazy hair. 
Thursday – Hide from Drugs. Wear a costume.

National School Lunch Week is October 13-17, and our theme is a great one:
Taste the World. 

The cafeterias will be decorated with international flags, landmarks, globes, etc., and the menus will feature a different world cuisine each day.
