Testing Tips for Parents With students in grades 3 – 5 (Kids aren’t the only ones who need test taking tips.) Tip #3 Attendance Matters (and so does on–time arrival)! Attendance always matters – and even more so now. Make sure your kids are present (if they aren’t sick).  The most important driver to doing well on the test is being present. They’ll get to take the test alongside their peers, which will be a familiar and comfortable environment for them. No one can enter the testing rooms after the tests have begun. Late students will have to wait in the office until testing is finished and take the test on a make-up day. If you your child is going to be late or absent, please communicate this information with the school. You can send his/her teacher a Dojo message or call the school. (706) 629-9547

STEAM EDVENTURE Summer Camp
Dear Parents, As EOG Milestones approach, (begins Tuesday, April 30th and ends Wednesday, May 8th) your child needs all the encouragement that they can get! My mom always left me little notes when she knew I had a big test or something stressful was going on at school. It really helped me get through those times and put a smile on my face. I still have the notes to this day! It would be very special and encouraging if you did this for your child during testing. I know they would love and cherish these notes from you. I am attaching some notes and you are more than welcome to use them! You can also use notes you already have or create your own. This is completely optional, but I know that this would help ease their minds before the test. I have included 8 notes to give you a variety to choose from. These notes could be left on the kitchen table, given to them before they get on the bus, stuck in their take home folder as a surprise, or put into an envelope that says, “Open before EOG!”. There are so many things you can do with these notes to start your child off on the right foot. If you have any questions about these notes, please do not hesitate to contact me! I am glad to help! I will also be happy to print off a set for you and send home in an envelope. From one parent to another, Darlene Bateman School Counselor

Testing Tips for Parents With students in grades 3 - 5 Tip #2 for parents and care givers! Make sure your child gets plenty of rest the nights before the tests and keep mornings calm. Save the screaming and frustration for the other 355 days of the year. We know that mornings can test the patience of a saint. Still, double down on patience (and prepare as much as you can the night before), so your child can start the school day feeling calm, happy and ready. Get them to school on time for breakfast at school (starts serving at 7:10), or give them a good breakfast at home.

Testing begins shortly after announcements Please have your child in school by 7:35 at the latest No one can enter the testing rooms after the tests have begun. Late students will have to wait in the office until testing is finished and take the test on a make-up day.

Some days are better than others, and these two girls stepped in to help someone who was having a really bad day. When they saw a student drop her breakfast tray, these two girls stopped what they were doing to help her pick it up and get her some more food. If we could all be like this the world would be a much better place! Thank you Delilah Moore and Amelia Oliver for being awesome!

This kind hearted student showed some extra love and care to a student who was anxious about being new to our school! Way to go Aubrey Lipscomb! Aubrey has only been at Belwood since February, so clearly she could relate to the feelings a new student might have. We are so thankful you are at Belwood, Aubrey!

this young lady was so kind the other day when she comforted a new student who was feeling sad. Yaraliz Peralta in Ms. Albritton's class is a sweetheart and we are so appreciative of her help! And now she has a new friend, too, so it was a win win for everyone!
