Hope you are having great summer! I wanted to post the 22-23 school supply list before I leave for summer break. Parents/families are only responsible for book bags, pencil boxes/pouches, headphones/earbuds. Cares act funding will provide the rest of the supplies. See grade level lists so you know if you are supposed to have a box or pouch or headphones or earbuds. Families may also purchase lunch boxes if their student plans of bringing lunch to school.

We continue to take enrollment for our preschool Play And Learn (PAL) program! It was a HUGE success this year! The PAL program is open to any child that turns three by July 1st or students that turn four after the September 1st cut-off for Georgia Pre-K. This program is open to anyone interested living inside and outside of Gordon County Schools. For more information give us a call! You can pick up enrollment packets at Belwood Elementary.

This summer we are partnering with Nothing Bundt Cakes for our Summer Reading Program. The Books and Bundts Reading Program is a reading program where the Pre-K - Middle School student reads 400+ minutes and completes a Reading Tracking Sheet. The student/parent/caregiver can submit the Reading Tracking Sheet once per month to the Woodstock, Kennesaw, or Smyrna Nothing Bundt Cakes bakeries for a FREE Bundtlet, Certificate of Achievement, and the adult can take the student's picture holding these items in front of our Books and Bundts backdrop to share with family and friends.

Gordon County elementary schools will begin spring assessments the week of April 11, 2022. To ensure that iPads are available, updated to the latest iOS version, and charged for testing, all elementary students will turn in their iPads by Monday, March 28, 2022. Once returned, iPads will remain in classrooms for the duration of the school year, and students will continue to use their iPads while at school.
Students must return their iPads with all accessories, including all of the following:
• iPad
• iPad Case
• Charging Block
• Cable
If the iPad charger and/or sync cable has been lost, a replacement charger and cable must be purchased. Charging blocks must be at least a 10w block, and the cable must be at least 3 feet long and not constructed of a metal exterior. Replacements can also be purchased through the child’s school. The cost for a replacement cable is $3.00 and $8.00 for the charging block.
Should you have questions concerning this process, please contact your child’s school.
Sincerely,
Alice Mashburn
Assistant Superintendent
