Gordon County Sheriff's Office proudly hosted the CHAMPS graduation ceremony at Belwood Elementary School today, celebrating the dedication and perseverance of our students over the past year.
CHAMPS, which stands for Choosing Healthy Activities and Methods Promoting Safety, equips students with essential life skills and knowledge to make informed, responsible decisions.
Throughout the program, students engaged in discussions on critical topics such as bullying, alcohol awareness, home-alone safety, child abduction prevention, and internet safety. Their commitment to learning and personal growth was truly commendable.
To recognize outstanding participation and achievement, top-performing students were honored with awards for their exceptional engagement in the program. We are confident that the skills and values instilled through CHAMPS will serve them well in the future.

So much is happening at Belwood, and it's ALL GOOD stuff!
Mrs. Holt and Mr. Fox "took one for the team" when they agreed to get water ballooned if students met their fund raising goal!
Here are a few snaps of the pain and suffering they endured!
The kids had a ball, or should we say, a balloon 😂😂

April Character students were recognized May 8th with a special breakfast provided by our local Chick-fil-a restaurant.
CFA Calhoun also provides the curriculum Core Essentials, which we use to promote core values in our students. Core values are personal ethics or ideals that guide us when making decisions, building relationships and solving problems.
The core value for April was HOPE. Hope means believing that something good can come out of something bad.

Blizzards & Thankfulness:
Belwood Celebrates Day Teacher Appreciation Week!
We all know the month of May is when things start heating up, so in order to keep everyone cooled down our Administrators at Belwood decided to gift us with Dairy Queen blizzards!
Thank you for the sweet treat! They were enjoyed by all!

Because sometimes teachers forget how AWESOME they really are, Belwood admins sponsored a tap truck to remind us of this!
So CHEERS to us during Teacher Appreciation Week!
And before the rumors run rampant, we had delicious iced lemonades, teas and coffees to choose from!
Everyone enjoyed the special treat brought to us by Nostalgia Tap Trucks!
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to us!
