Belwood Elementary was recognized today for outstanding performance on the 2023 CCRPI in the area of PROGRESS MATH in the district at the elementary school level!
Mrs. Mashburn surprised us with dozens of donuts which were enjoyed by all!!

The 100th day of school might not be an official holiday, but it holds a place of significance at Belwood Elementary. It is a time to celebrate the milestone of successfully completing 100 days of learning, growing and meeting our goals!

BELWOOD CELEBRATIONS COMING!
Last week we had a wonderful visit from Ms. Judy Peterson, Executive Assistant with Keep Calhoun- Gordon Beautiful, and a group of volunteers from Republic Services. Their mission is to promote beautification , recycling and litter prevention.
During their visit to BES, they had the opportunity to read and talk with our third grade classes. Ms. Peterson said, "They were a delightful group to be with and their knowledge of litter,
recycling , composting and natural resources was impressive"!
The particular project that brought them to Belwood was an extension of their litter education committee, which we began in early February, 2023. Their goal was to offer the book, All the Way to the Ocean, to every third grader in
Gordon County. Thanks to generous donations from many contributors they were able to purchase the beautiful, hardback books and, as of December 11, they have distributed over 750 books. Belwood appreciates their had work and dedication in helping to educate us in ways we can reduce our carbon footprint!
Belwood's LSGT (Local School Governance Team) meeting originally scheduled for Wednesday, January 17th at 7 am will be rescheduled for Wednesday, January 31st at 7 am. Thank you!
Monday, January 15th is MLK Holiday! No School on Monday!
Gordon Central wants Belwood families to know that all students from their local feeder schools will get in for free with a paid adult ticket. They are hoping to have a good turn out this Friday Night!

Hello Parents! This year Belwood is partnering with SchoolStore to raise funds to help purchase the essential tools our students and teachers need to succeed.
Here's what you need to do:
1. Your student will bring an envelope home today with information about signing up at www.schoolstore.net
2. Send emails to friends, family and co-workers inviting them to support your student.
3. Return the envelope with the student Prize Code for your child to get their awesome participation prize!

Gordon Central High school students performed "A Charlie Brown Christmas" for 4th and 5th graders at Belwood yesterday. It was such a treat!
The Awesome and Amazing Belwood Singers blessed many today with their angelic voices. They sang at Walmart, North GA National Bank, The Fountains Retirement Home, and Shaw’s Retirement reception. If anyone took pictures please send to us or add here:)
