GCHS Schedule

This is a reminder that Gordon County Schools will be following an early release schedule tomorrow and Thursday. Friday is a digital learning day. Below are Gordon Central's specific schedules for those days.

Kiwanis Club of Calhoun-Gordon County celebrated their K-Kids Certificates of Recognition for outstanding student work in school and our community. Students were recognized and treated with a delicious lunch at Dairy Queen to acknowledge their impact on their schools. Congratulations to these students:
Jayme Morgan, Gordon Central High School
Lily Holton, Sonoraville High School
Desirae Davidson, Red Bud Middle School
Blakely Bryant, Calhoun Primary School
Emily Bail Organista, Calhoun Elementary School
Great job, students! Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. The organization seeks to be a positive influence in communities worldwide — so that one day, all children will wake up in communities that believe in them, nurture them and provide the support they need to thrive.

In remembrance of 9/11

Due to the threat of inclement weather, our 2024 Homecoming Parade has been rescheduled. The new date is Wednesday, September 11 at 6 pm. The route will be down Warrior Path between Gordon Central High School and Ashworth Middle School. Spectators should park in either the student lot at the high school or one of the faculty lots at Ashworth Middle School. Warrior Path will be closed to through traffic beginning at 5:50 pm until the end of the parade. See the posted map for route details.
Come out and support the Warrior Nation!

Here's some more pics of our students that dressed up as Twins/Dynamic Duo. #HOCO24

We also had lots of our students that dressed up for HOCO Day 2 (Twin Day/Dynamic Duo). #HOCO24

Today's HOCO dress-up theme was Twin Day or Dynamic Duo. Take a few minutes to look at some of our staff members who did a great job with this theme.

Mrs. Rainwater's Honors World Literature class held a Silent Discussion using the unit essential questions. Students responded to each of the four questions without talking. Then they went back to read the responses of their peers and starred the ones they thought were most thought-provoking. After discussing the starred points as a class, each student completed a personal reflection on the topics.

We want to remind our GCHS Community that the track is closed to the public during regular school hours and also during after school hours if students are practicing or participating in athletic contests.
