If you have not yet completed the 2027-2028 School Calendar Survey, please take a few moments to share your preference between Option 1 and Option 2. The primary difference between the two proposed calendars is the timing of Fall Break.
The survey also includes an optional section about school and district communications. These questions will help us better understand how you receive information, which communication tools you prefer, and whether there is interest in exploring a more centralized approach to communication.
The communications portion is completely optional and is not required in order to submit your calendar selection.

AP Scholar achievements are categorized into different levels of recognition:
· AP Scholar: Awarded to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams.
· AP Scholar with Honor: Granted to students who achieve an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, with scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.
· AP Scholar with Distinction: Conferred upon students who maintain an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, with scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
These exemplary students have not only demonstrated academic prowess but have also exemplified the values of hard work and dedication, which will undoubtedly serve them well in their future endeavors.

The application process for the Calhoun-Gordon County Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership program for 2026-27 has begun. Students will be chosen from the senior class of each of the county's high schools. Those selected for the program will attend various tours and activities across Gordon County as well as visiting the Georgia State Capitol to build student's leadership skills and to showcase opportunities, services and careers available to them. There are also two scholarships that will be awarded to two graduates of the program.
Completed applications are due to Mrs. Hughes by Friday, September 4th. If you have questions, please see Mr. or Mrs. Hughes.

Students identified meaningful synonyms for each term then used those synonyms to accurately determine and match the correct definitions. Next, they connected visual representations to the new terms, reinforcing understanding through multiple modes of learning. To deepen retention, students applied the Read/Cover/Remember/Retell process: they read the information, covered it, and then wrote everything they could recall about each term from memory. This interactive approach promoted active engagement, critical thinking, and long-term vocabulary retention while supporting students’ ability to make meaningful connections between words, definitions, and concepts.
