We are currently seeking nominations and holding elections for a parent representative on our Local School Governance Team. A Local School Governance Team in each school is the method the school system uses to get the community, parents and teachers involved in decision making to maximize educational opportunities for children. The Local School Governance Team will seek to provide the best possible learning environment for the children in their community.

We have received one nomination for this position. To provide additional nominations, please write in the name in the "other" section. Please make sure the nominee agrees to the nomination before submitting the name. Voting and nominations will close Sunday, August. 17.

SPLOST has made such a huge difference in Gordon County Schools! We have been able to complete many project upgrades and improvements across the district for our students and community. Here are some of the many improvements made over the summer.

Gordon Central High School's tennis courts were resurfaced, and the Ratner Stadium bleachers were restored after pressure washing and painting. Come check out these improvements at this evening's Freshman Orientation! #ExtraordinaryGCS #ExtraordinaryGCHS

You can see the full bleacher restoration process by checking out this YouTube video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XISp9vIlE8I

Gordon County Schools is excited to welcome students, families, and staff back for the first day of school on Friday, August 8, 2025! As we gear up for another year of learning and growth, we encourage everyone to check out our Back-to-School Guide. This helpful resource includes important information about enrollment, school supply lists, transportation, the academic calendar, and much more.
