Summer enrollment is open for Gordon County Schools now through July 17th.
If you plan to enroll your child at Ashworth Middle, Belwood Elementary, Gordon Central High, Swain Elementary, or Tolbert Elementary, please visit the front office at Gordon Central High School to enroll (335 Warrior Path, Calhoun, GA 30701).
If you plan to enroll your child at Fairmount Elementary, Red Bud Elementary, Red Bud Middle, Sonoraville Elementary, or Sonoraville High, please visit the front office at Sonoraville High School to enroll (7340 Fairmount Hwy SE, Calhoun, GA 30701).
Office hours for enrollment are Monday through Thursday, Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Registration times are 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. June 30th through July 2nd. Registration is closed July 3rd and 4th. After July 17th, families will need to submit paperwork at the school where they would like to enroll their child.

Gordon Central High School is pleased to announce Coach Tony Plott as the new Athletic Director for the 2025-2026 school year. Coach Plott has collaborated closely with retiring Athletic Director Billy Shackelford over the past few weeks to ensure a smooth and seamless transition as our athletic programs prepare for summer activities and the upcoming school year.
A native of Gainesville, Georgia, Coach Plott was a multi-sport athlete at East Hall High School, competing in football, basketball, wrestling, and track. He continued his football career at Catawba College on a scholarship and earned a master’s degree from West Georgia College.
Coach Plott’s coaching career includes positions at East Hall and Pope High Schools and 18 years at Woodland High School, including seven seasons as head football coach. For the past three years, Coach Plott has been an integral member of the Gordon Central community, contributing to both the football and track programs.
Coach Plott and his wife, Robin—a Calhoun native—have been married for 26 years and have four children: Molly, Jonah, Isabelle, and Collins.
The Gordon Central community is enthusiastic about the future of Warrior athletics under Coach Plott’s leadership and looks forward to continued growth and success.

Graduation practice is mandatory! May 21, 9 am-noon.

Gordon County Schools is offering an online summer school opportunity free of charge to any student who needs to make up a credit this summer.
Dates: June 2nd - July 18th
Eligibility:
Students with grades between 50 to 69 in the selected course are eligible to enroll.
Important Information:
Students must successfully complete the course with a passing grade to receive credit.
Quizzes will have 3 attempts to pass. End of unit test will have one attempt.
If a student attempts the course but does not complete it with a passing grade, the failing grade will be applied to their transcript.
The course will be open from June 2nd and will close at 3 pm on July 18th.

Attention students...applications are being accepted for SGA representatives for next school year. Packets for SGA applications can be picked up in Mr. Shattuck's office from Mrs. Mashburn starting May 5. Completed packets are due by Friday, May 16 at 8:25a.m. No late applications will be accepted.

Seniors must return their iPads on Wednesday, 5/14, during homeroom along with their Apple 20-Watt charger and cord. Please make sure your iPad is fully charged before homeroom. Seniors are considered unclear until their iPad is returned in good condition along with the Apple 20-Watt charger and cord that was issued with the iPad.
If you need to purchase a replacement charger or cord, you can go to the "Student Fees/Pay Online" tab on the Gordon Central website and then select "Central Office" and then "Technology". Please keep a copy of your receipt to show Mrs. Pruitt in the Media Center.
Underclassmen will return their iPad and accessories on Friday 5/16 during homeroom.


The Class of 2025 Senior Honors Night is on Monday, May 19 at 7:00 P.M. at Trinity Baptist Church. Students who are receiving awards received a letter the week of May 5 with additional details.
