Sonoraville High School recently hosted the Region 7 AA Literary Competition, where eight schools competed. Sonoraville had an outstanding day, finishing as the Region Runner Up overall. Congratulations to all of our students who represented SHS so well.

FCCLA members competed in the Region STAR Events at Ridgeland High School on Saturday. STAR Events (Students Taking Action with Recognition) are competitive events in which members are recognized for proficiency and achievement in chapter and individual projects, leadership skills, and career preparation. These students will advance to state competition in Columbus in March. Congratulations to the following for their outstanding achievements!

Due to the latest weather forecast from GEMA indicating the potential for severe weather in the northwest Georgia region, Gordon County Schools will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026.

This precautionary measure is being taken to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and families amid potentially hazardous and unpredictable winter weather conditions. Gordon County Schools will continue to assess conditions in coordination with local and state partners.
