Sonoraville High School is proud to announce our Valedictorian and Salutatorian. Paul Duhaime is the Class of 2024 Valedictorian. He is the son of Shail and Lisa Duhaime. Paul plans to attend Liberty University. Eli Stewart is the Class of 2024 Salutatorian. He is the son of Will and Dana Stewart. Eli plans to attend college and major in chemistry. Congratulations to Paul and Eli on this amazing achievement!


Paul Duhaime was recognized as Sonoraville High School's 2024 PAGE STAR Student, along with his STAR Teacher Mrs. Samantha Watson. Paul is the son of Shail and Lisa Duhaime and plans to attend Liberty University.
The Student Teacher Achievement Program (STAR) is sponsored, administered, and promoted by the Professional Association of Georgia Educators Foundation (PAGE) and the PAGE Foundation. Since its inception in 1958, the STAR program has honored more than 29,000 students and the teachers they have selected as having the most influence on their academic achievement. To obtain the STAR nomination, graduating high school seniors must have the highest score on a single test date on the SAT and be in the top 10 percent or top 10 students of their class based on grade point average.

Last week, Casey Brooks (SHS Class of 2018) came to speak to TAP students about a nontraditional path into education.
Coach Brooks served in the United States Air Force and currently works at Sonoraville Elementary School as a kindergarten paraprofessional. He coaches football at SHS and boys basketball at RBMS.

On December 14th, the Sonoraville Choral students and Director, Hannah Nelson, performed at Food City in Calhoun for the annual Santa Visit, a free event for the community. The Chorus sang "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town" and many other favorites. SHS senior, Ruth Nunfio, said "I had a blast being able to sing with friends and seeing the kids talk to Santa."



Students in Mrs. Weaver's class celebrated the holiday season with a little Gingerbread Geometry.⭐️

The Odyssey Speech and Debate Team traveled to Midtown High School in Atlanta on Saturday to compete in the Carter King Tournament. Isabel Ulibarri placed 3rd in the second round. Other members who attended were Bella Hall, Joshua Ortiz, Jasper Knight, and Brayen Fung. The team as a whole gained much experience, and a great time was had by all.

Congratulations to our Game Day Cheerleaders for placing second this weekend at the Model Competition scoring higher than Columbus, Sandy Creek, and Stockbridge. They just missed placing first against Cedartown by 0.3 of a point. Great job ladies and good luck Friday at the State Competition in Atlanta. 📣
