Should an official change of schedule (delay, early dismissal, etc.) be warranted, we will notify staff and families via our website, all social media handles, mass notification system, and share information with local media outlets.

Varsity girls and boys and JV girls and boys Phoenix Tennis dominated Pickens last night with a sweep. The boys started strong with wins from Ian Martin at number one singles, Ross Stewart at number two singles, and Donovan McDaniel at number three. The doubles were just as good with Ross White and Garrett McGill at number one doubles. Braxton Coats and Will Dunnaway at number two doubles also had an impressive victory. The girls were also amazing to watch as Hannah Jones led the pack with a monumental win at number one singles. Morgan Guyton followed right behind her at number two singles. Our number three singles Reese Davis also played great and came away with a victory. At number one doubles for the girls Joanna Gillette and Abbie Knight played an amazing match and came away with the win. Our number two doubles, Bristin Gordon and Pamela Aguilar, had a hard fought match but came away on top. Our JV it was no different, as Joseph Dunnaway, Cooper Watson, Rushi Patel and Jackson Fowler had commanding wins. For our JV girls doubles Camdyn Kuhlman and McKenna Boswell played exceptional to come away with a win. Laney Rickett had a solid performance in singles to win her match. Congratulate these athletes when you see them!

Early this morning, reports of what sounded like two gunshots in the vicinity of Sonoraville Elementary and Sonoraville High School campuses prompted the schools to go into the lockdown phase of their safety plans and to hold buses off-site. The Gordon County Sheriff's Office responded promptly and have found no threat on campus. We appreciate our continued partnership with law enforcement and their prompt response to this situation. We remain vigilant regarding the safety and security of our schools, and we appreciate everyone's cooperation this morning.
