Calhoun, GA – September 25, 2024 – Presently, Georgia is under a State of Emergency. Due to the anticipated impact of Hurricane Helene and the potential for hazardous conditions, Gordon County Schools will be closed for all students and staff on Thursday, September 26, 2024 and Friday, September 27, 2024. All Thursday school activities are canceled. The safety of our students, staff, and community remains our top priority. Gordon County Schools is working closely with local emergency management agencies and Calhoun City Schools to monitor the storm's path and coordinate response efforts. At this time, we believe that Friday evening and Saturday events will continue as planned; however, we will provide updates if needed. We will continue to assess conditions to ensure the safety of all. We encourage our families and community members to stay safe and follow any advisories from local authorities.
