Ashworth Warriors Win In Nail-Biter Against Christian Heritage Middle
It came down to the wire on Thursday, as the Ashworth Warriors grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 9-8, over Christian Heritage Middle . The game was tied at eight in the bottom of the fourth when Nevaeh Wheaton singled, scoring one run.
Christian Heritage Middle got on the board in the top of the first inning, but the Warriors tied the game in the bottom of the first thanks to a walk by Avery Wiley, and a single by Georgia Gregory.
After watching Christian Heritage take the lead, 4-3, in the top of the second, the
Ashworth Warriors flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the inning by scoring five runs on two hits to take the lead, 8-4. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Lilly Thompson that drove in one
Jurnee Clark earned the win for Ashworth Warriors. The hurler gave up seven hits and eight runs over four innings, striking out nine and walking five. Way to go Warriors!
