A highlight of our Teacher Appreciation week was the fajita and taco bar generously provided to Belwood by the Segura Family, E & J Rentals and El Nopal (of course)! To say it was enjoyed by ALL is the understatement of the week! We were living it up on el seis de Mayo WOO HOO! THANK YOU for all the love you show us all year long. And our bellies thank you also:)

Here at Belwood, we are beyond BLESSED to have so many generous individuals , churches and businesses love on us, not only during Teacher Appreciation Week, but all year long. Blizzards & Thankfulness: Belwood Celebrates Day Teacher Appreciation Week! We all know the month of May is when things start heating up, so in order to keep everyone cooled down our Administrators at Belwood decided to gift us with Dairy Queen blizzards! Thank you for the sweet treat! They were enjoyed by all!

Because sometimes teachers forget how AWESOME they really are, Belwood admins sponsored a tap truck to remind us of this! So CHEERS to us during Teacher Appreciation Week! And before the rumors run rampant, we had delicious iced lemonades, teas and coffees to choose from! Everyone enjoyed the special treat brought to us by Nostalgia Tap Trucks! FIELD DAY IS COMING THIS FRIDAY, MAY 9TH for students in GRADES K - 5! Friendly reminders: 1. You MUST check in at the front office with YOUR ID. NO EXCEPTIONS. Be prepared. 2. Students should wear their class t-shirts and sneakers so they can run fast! 3. Bring a water bottle with a name on it!!! 4. Please see attached schedule. Times have changed. 5. HAVE FUN!

Belwood Elementary School has an exciting event to look forward to this Thursday, May 8th. Children's book author Anita B. Adhikary will be here to talk to our students and read one of her books!! But you also have an unique opportunity to hear her by joining her Author Talk and Book Signing at the Calhoun local library at 4 pm, also this Thursday, May 8th at 4 pm. Please join her! And bring your book for her to sign:) From Author Anita Adhikary: I’ve been a teacher for almost 45 years, 30 in the Montessori field. I became an author simply by chance; not seeing any books in the US about Nepal, my roots and books on children for healthy and a holistic living. I published one book which led to another and finally five books, now! I have almost reached the milestone where I have read my books to about 38,000 children worldwide, my passion is educating peace, and seeing children becoming happy healthy individuals from a very young age. I cannot express my gratitude to principal Monica Holt for meeting her by chance and now coming to present my books at Belwood Elementary school, is simply magical. The power of the universe is mind-boggling- sheer joy. Cheers Anita Adhikary

ATTENTION ATTENTION: SHS "Class of" pictures will be taken at Belwood next week on Wednesday, May 14th. There is a form coming home to be filled out if you are interested in your child being in the photo. The cost is $5.00 and you may pay by Venmo, cash or check.
