The BES Principal's Book Club is a program designed to encourage reading and literacy development. This program began in 2019 in honor of Mrs. Phyllis Purdy, a retired teacher and literacy advocate. The development of early literacy skills is a key to the development of a student and his/her success in life. Mrs. Holt encourages students to read at least 15 minutes each day. Research shows that students who read 15 minutes or more daily will see accelerated reading gains, and students who read 30 minutes or more a day will see the greatest gains of all. Parents, please join us by encouraging your child to read ad fall in love with a good book.
Shown here are Mrs. Holt and Mr. Fox giving out It's Pumpkin Day, Mouse!, Junior Monster Scouts, and Click, Clack, Moo, Cows That Type.
