I just received this information from the transportation dept. As of this 4:30 this morning. Sam Hunt, Mauldin, Covington Bridge, Knight Bottom, and Langford Rd are still closed or impassable for a school bus. I can get a bus into Mt Olive Rd and service it using B.Johnson Rd. but Mt Olive and Old Boone Ford, and Pinhook will be the only roads that we can service for route FES-6. We will service Mt. Olive and Old Boone Ford and then stage a bus at Mt. Olive Church from 6:15-6:25 if anyone wants to meet the bus there. Thank you, Mrs. Champion

Everyone is invited to participate in our dress up days this week. We tried to pick ideas that would be things kids might already have at home.

Dear FES Families, Fairmount Elementary is currently experiencing an unscheduled power outage. Georgia Power is aware of the situation and is in communication with our Facilities Director about power restoration efforts. The school will remain open today and campus operations will continue to operate normally, as scheduled, including the after school program. We do still have access to our emails, working restrooms, and we are prepared to serve lunch to our students. Although today’s situation is not ideal, we are making the best of it and we are operating as normal of a school day as we can for our FES staff and students. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility. Our number one priority is keeping our students and staff safe. We will communicate with you if anything changes. Thank you!

Fairmount Parents, Children will be allowed to wear their costumes to school on Monday, October 31st. Your child’s safety is always our first concern here at Fairmount. We ask that you guide their selection of costumes to allow them to comfortably work and learn throughout the day, as well as be able to independently use the restroom. Any items that encourage violence or could be scary to other children are inappropriate for children at school. All accessories to costumes should be left at home. We are not responsible for lost or damaged items. Students are not allowed to wear full - faced masks. Thank you for your cooperation in making this a fun and safe day at school. We are looking forward to an enjoyable day!

PARENT & FAMILY ENGAGEMENT TIP OF THE WEEK: Encourage creative problem-solving with your children. Problem-solving is the basis of good mathematical thinking, and the problems don't have to involve numbers. Ask questions like, "How many different ways are there to walk to school?" or "How many different ways can I measure flour to get half a cup?" Try to come up with more than one solution for everyday problems. Visit www.gcbe.org/pfe to learn more about GCS Parent & Family Engagement today. #GoCoSchools #GETGCS #OneBIGFamily
