SHS Forensic Science classes completed an escape room for Halloween! Students were required to answer 12-week benchmark questions and other challenges to escape. The day was challenging and successful! Students at SHS are always actively pursuing a higher standard of excellence!

Last week, the Sonoraville High School Performing Arts participants traveled to Cedartown for the Region 7-AAAA One Act competition. After a long day of fantastic performances, SHS earned 4th place for their production of Aladdin, Jr!
Blake Carey and Ethan Smith received All-Star Cast recognitions for their roles in the show, and Gavin Reece was named BEST ACTOR for the region for performance as Genie!⭐️
We are incredibly proud of this special group of students for the hard work they have put in this season. If you see any member of the cast or crew of the production, be sure to congratulate them for their spectacular performance and dedication representing the Phoenix Nation!

Wishing you a SAFE and HAPPY Halloween!🎃

🦃 It's November! (Well, almost) so head to our school cafeteria to gobble, gobble, gobble up some delicious meals. Especially on November 7th: National Nacho Day 🍅🧀🫘 We know you will love it!

If you are in need of Christmas Assistance through The Voluntary Action Center, please see the attached classes.
The VAC is willing to count a parent-teacher conference or related meeting at the school in place of attending a class. If you have attended a parent-teacher conference at Sonoraville High School and would like to use it for VAC assistance, please contact Mrs. Townsend in the counseling office.

The cross-country team competed in their region meet at Heritage. All runners ran hard and ran great times! Sadly, we came up short but had a wonderful season. Both coaches are proud of each athlete and can’t wait for next season!
We also recognized our 4 seniors last night. Pictured are Lizeth Bautista, Janelle Lopez, Ellen Robertson, and Jesse Hendrix. Seniors have had a wonderful 3-4 years of cross country, and we’re excited to see what the future holds for them!

This week, Mr. Gomez and his Spanish students have been working on a Day of the Dead altar. The altar is dedicated to Bartolome de las Casas. Among many of his accomplishments, Bartolome fought for the right of the natives in the New World.
The Day of the Dead is a celebration of the lives of those who have passed away. Students really took their time and thought about intricate details to include, and they added their own personal touch by writing about their own family members who have passed.
