Mrs. Harrison's Essentials of Healthcare class dissected chicken legs for a lab Wednesday. Over the last several weeks, they have learned about the integumentary, skeletal, and muscle systems. This lab gave students a better understanding of all the parts of each of those systems and how the muscles and bones work together to provide the body movement.

Former NFL linebacker, Chris Draft, made a visit to Sonoraville High School to meet and share his story with SHS junior, Cayman Reynolds.
Recently, Cayman found himself caught in traffic caused by a car accident resulting from hydroplaning. With the help of bystanders, Cayman helped in rescuing the trapped driver from the wreckage.
Chris Draft (who played in the NFL from 1998–2010 and with the Atlanta Falcons from 2000-2004) heard Cayman’s story and felt led to sit down and share a similar experience he faced. He offered words of wisdom, encouragement, guidance, and support for Cayman and all that he witnessed that day.
We are incredibly grateful for Chris and his willingness to share, as well as Cayman’s bravery and leadership during such a tragic event.

Mrs. Brookshire’s Honors American Literature recently conducted a mock trial inspired by Arthur Miller’s The Crucible. Students deepened their understanding of the play and enhanced their grasp of persuasive appeals. Tasked with constructing arguments supported by textual evidence, students used persuasive rhetoric, identifying flaws in logic, and anticipating opposing counsel’s counterarguments. This experience not only sharpened students’ analytical skills but also allowed them to embody the characters and themes of the play, providing hands-on application of their knowledge in the art of persuasion.
