Limelight is a capstone project for the seniors wishing to earn the Fine Arts Diploma seal for 2022 graduates. This year's Limelight consists of two straight plays, approximately 25 minutes each in length.
SPECIAL GUEST
Directed by Julia Stanley and Mia Wilson
Long years of hardship and poverty have embittered Nora. Directing her hate against a young detective who killed her son in self-defense, Nora invites him to her home, toys with him, then attempts to kill him. But her plan is thwarted by the dead son himself, who returns in time to prevent tragedy.
NOBODY SLEEPS
Directed by Bailey Casey and Abbie King
Winner of numerous play competitions, this is a bright and breezy farce about a very calm family of very odd habits. Sixteen-year-old Daisy comes across Spike, a burglar, rifling through the contents of a desk. "You'll never find anything in that desk. We never can." Daisy would just as soon have Spike take her sister's money. She's saving for a guitar and the whole family dreads the results. Then Ada suggests that Mother ought to meet Spike as she's writing a mystery and wants to get to know a good burglar. But Mother is full of criticisms: "Why aren't you wearing gloves? What would you give for an alibi? Where did you park your car?" A lively, extremely funny concoction.
These plays are completely student-directed and produced in every aspect, from costumes to lighting, from auditions to staging. They need to have a full house to perform for, and you will be glad you took an hour to support these fantastic theatre students and celebrate Theatre In Our Schools Month.
This year's Senior Theatre students include Abbie King, Bailey Casey, Julia Stanley, Roger Thomas, Dallas Smith, Mia Wilson, and Stephanie Chavez.

This is a special group - did everything asked of them - wrestled their butts off on Thursday and put us in position to make a run. People outside of wrestling have no idea how family oriented this sport really is. It was incredible to look up in the stands all weekend and see a sea of RED - the roars that erupted after kids would win a match just can't be described unless you were there.
THANKS to all who supported the kids efforts. The saying is it takes a village to raise kids - my saying has been it takes a village to win and compete for championships - OUR village @ Sonoraville is the BEST in Georgia and second to none

Abigail King and Luke White are Sonoraville High School's 2022 STAR Students! For the first time in school history, SHS had students tie for the honor of STAR student. STAR is an acronym for Student Teacher Achievement Recognition, and the STAR Student is awarded to the senior (or seniors) with the highest SAT Score on a single test date who is in the top 10% of their class. In addition to being recognized for their achievements, STAR Students are asked to select the teacher who they feel made the most significant contribution to their scholastic development to be named their STAR Teacher. Abigail selected Mrs. Hannah Nelson and Luke selected Mr. Nathan Schuster. Congratulations to Abigail, Luke, Mrs. Nelson, and Mr. Schuster!
