NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE
The Gordon County Board of Education has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 6.98 percent.
All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the Gordon County Schools Central Office, 7300 Fairmount Highway, Calhoun, GA on September 8, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.
This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 15.65 mills, an increase of 1.021 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 14.629 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $250,000 is approximately $100.05 and the proposed tax increase for nonhomestead property with a fair market value of $225,000 is approximately $91.89.

• AP Scholar with Distinction: Conferred upon students who maintain an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, with scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
• AP International Diploma: Presented to students who exhibit exceptional achievement across various disciplines, subject to eligibility requirements.
