We are so proud of these Bulldogs. They were chosen for being displaying generosity during the month of November. Keep up the good work!

This school year Gordon County Schools started a new innovative, student-led program called Helping Hands Ending Hunger. This food-safe program, authorized by the Georgia Department of Education and Department of Public Health, recovers unopened, uneaten prepackaged food and fruit from school breakfasts and lunches—perfectly good food that would have otherwise been thrown away. Supplemented with other nutritious food Helping Hands purchases from the Atlanta Community Food Bank or donated by the community, this food is stored and sent home with students who otherwise would not have food to eat over the weekends and during school breaks.
Our school system has needs for a program like Helping Hands to help prevent food waste and lessen the number of our students who are food insecure. Students worried about where their next meal will come from, or who lack nutritious meal choices, face poorer health, perform worse at school, and are at risk for other underlying social problems. This program allows us to address a critical need and hopefully improve their success and happiness at school. The students involved in this program learn lifelong lessons of empathy, compassion, kindness, and leadership as they work toward helping feed our community.
Fairmount Elementary is beyond thankful and blessed with community partners that have made a difference by donating to our Helping Hands Ending Hunger program.

Would you like to help make sure that every child in the Georgia foster care system has at least one gift on Christmas day?!?!?!
We are asking everyone that can (Students, Staff, & Community) to donate $1 to partner with Clark’s Christmas Kids along with the Georgia Department of Education.

Our FES Chorus put on a fabulous Christmas concert last night. Thank you to everyone who attended to support these students. A special thank you to Mrs. Crowley for pouring so much love and time into our music department. There will be one more chance to hear these amazing students sing. Come out to the Fairmount Parade this Saturday evening at 6:00pm. Let’s get in the holiday spirit with a little Rudolph, the Red-nosed Reindeer and We Wish You a Merry Christmas!

FES welcomed our Strategic Initiatives & Communication Director, Brian Hall, at our December LSGT meeting. He discussed a survey that was given to team members on how Gordon County schools can grow together while working toward a better learning environment for each individual school.
The members also discussed what items could be purchased next year to help further protect students, better communication, and beautify our school. *A big shout-out to FES’s PTO for sending a team of teachers to a literacy conference where they will learn and implement new strategies to help all students be able to read!
Next LSGT meeting – January 8th at 6:45am in the media center. Everyone welcome.

FES Faculty & Staff are celebrating the 12 Day of Christmas!
Yesterday, on the first day, we enjoyed a Reindeer Raffle. Everyone loved their prizes. Today, on the 2nd day of Christmas, treats await our awesome staff!

Enjoy Christmas dress up days, Dec. 16-20!

It was a little chilly this morning, and we'd love to give a shoutout to our faculty, staff, and SROs who help with morning car and bus duty! There's nothing better than a friendly face in the morning greeting students arriving at school, and that was evident this morning at Fairmount Elementary.
We strive to create a safe and welcoming environment, and we're sure the Bulldog community appreciates it! #TogetherGCS

FES held it's school level spelling bee today.
Congratulations to FES Spelling Bee Winner, Kinzlee Hess. Also, congratulations to runner up Cash Cannady and all the students who completed. Every student did an amazing job.
Kinzlee will represent FES in the county spelling bee on Jan. 19.

We would like to remind everyone of our procedures when you arrive on campus at Fairmount Elementary School.
