Strategic Planning Survey Link: https://forms.office.com/r/MpdZUzans2 Gordon County Schools invites you to participate in our school district Strategic Planning Survey, and we greatly appreciate your feedback as we work to shape the future of our schools. Your input plays a crucial role in helping us create positive outcomes for our students and community. The Strategic Planning Survey is a key part of our process to develop a comprehensive roadmap for guiding Gordon County Schools from 2026 to 2030. This survey allows us to hear directly from community members, parents, staff, and students about their perspectives, priorities, and hopes for our school system. By gathering this feedback, we aim to understand the community’s vision for our schools and identify areas for growth and improvement. The insights from the survey will directly influence the new strategic plan, which will set goals and outline initiatives that promote academic excellence, enhance student well-being, support staff development, and strengthen community partnerships. Ultimately, this survey empowers the community to play an active role in shaping the future of Gordon County Schools, ensuring that we continue providing the best possible educational experiences for all our students. You can complete the survey by visiting this link: https://forms.office.com/r/MpdZUzans2 If you would like to review our previous Strategic Plan and our 2020-2025 Scorecard, you can do so by visiting our website and following the links here: https://www.gcbe.org/page/strategic-plan

📚✨ Exciting things happening in our classrooms! Our students recently explored the “Five Factors of Effective Schools” and took that knowledge to heart by designing safe and orderly classroom spaces. They sketched their ideal setups and then brought those visions to life using Legos! This hands-on activity sparked fantastic discussions about what makes a learning environment effective and conducive to safety. It’s incredible to see their creativity and critical thinking in action! #TogetherSHS #FutureEducators

As a part of Dalton State College’s ongoing efforts to support local school systems, they invited high school Counselors & STEM faculty from (Calhoun City Schools/Gordon County Schools) to visit campus this fall for a special STEM-focused tour. Dalton State’s STEM programs are well-equipped, and students have a level of access to these hands-on resources that is unusual for undergraduates, like taking part in faculty research. DSC is eager to showcase what they have to offer students, both for dual enrollment and as potential incoming freshmen. Our SHS team had the opportunity to explore the facilities, interact with DSC faculty and students, and gain a deeper understanding of the educational opportunities at Dalton State. #TogetherSHS #TogetherGCS #GordonCountySchools
